  1. Kia Ora Isa, I love the instruments you have made. Its amazing to see what you can make just with stuff from around the house. Have you made anything else?

  2. Hi Isa
You have been very creative with the recycled materials you found at home. The instruments you have made are fantastic. I like how you have written the instructions on how to make the maracas so others can have a go at making them too. What a great idea to add a video to your blog post, it was great to be able to hear what the maracas sounded like. May be you could start a band at home!

  3. Kia Ora Isa, this is very creative and it is great to see you upcycling materials to create something new. What other instruments have you made? Have you made a guitar before with rubber bands?

    1. Hi Miss Hart,
I would love to try making a guitar out of rubber bands and cardboard boxes as well when I have time.

  4. Hi Isa,
That is a very cool instrument. How long did it take you to make it? What instrument is it? Is it a shaker, a guitar, or a Ucayali. I like the taper things. Is the blue things bottle lids and the brown things cardboard?

    1. Hi Imogen,
The castanet took me a few minutes to make because you only need a piece of cardboard, 2 x milk bottle top and some sellotape to tape the milk bottle top on the cardboard.
The shakers you saw are called Maracas. It is also very easy to make, only took me a few minutes to make it. All you need is an empty plastic bottle, some beans or rice to pour into the bottle to make the rattling noise. Have a go and try to make some for yourself. We could have form a band ourselves one day.
